Last week I shared with you Bud’s quilt top. This is the quilt I “loaned” him when he had his heart surgery. I found the quilt top at a flea market in 1994. I loved the fabrics! I think it must be from the 1950’s era. The pattern is called “apple core.” The quilt measures 72 in X 93 in. It was hand pieced. I paid a fellow quilter to do the hand quilting, then did the binding myself.

Fabulous quilt, by the way. When I am getting my kids to the car on the way to school, and they are in a bad mood, I make them link arms with me and skip, singing "Were off to see the wizard." It always does the trick.
This is such an unusual quilt - you get so used to seeing them in either square or rectangular shapes, so I just LOVE the fluted edge on this one. It's beautiful. What do you use to mark up your quilts? Is it a permanent ink and can you wash it?
