The quilt is machine pieced. It measures 50 in X 60 in. There are actual pockets which I hope the long-arm quilter will be able to leave functional.

I am a plastic surgeon in Little Rock, AR. I used to "suture for a living", I continue "to live to sew". These days most of my sewing is piecing quilts. I love the patterns and interplay of the fabric color. I would like to explore writing about medical/surgical topics as well as sewing/quilting topics. I will do my best to make sure both are represented accurately as I share with both colleagues and the general public.

Hi Ramona -It's so beautiful!
My d-i-l will be induced Monday if nothing happens over the weekend.
Can't wait to give her the quilt you made. I keep telling her I have a surprise that I know she will love. :)
I was unable to do the shower because of planning Mom's memorial (expense)which will be on June 6th, so we will do one after the baby and after the memorial. They have a lot of things... but still fun to do those things..buy baby presents.
But I don't know if I can hold off that long to give her the baby quilt. I'm practically busting at the seems over it. :) (It's fun when you have that *special* gift.)
Thank you again.
I love this quilt! It would have been ideal for when Benjamin was younger and had so many sensory issues ... I could see something like this being very effective in Occupational Therapy with children who have sensory issues.
