Flying Squares Baby Quilt

This quilt is made from left over 2.5 in squares of fabric cut for other projects.  I have trouble just tossing unused pieces.  The block is called flying squares.  The quilt is machine pieced and quilted.  It is 39.5 in X 45 in.  I have sent it to a friend who’s wife is pregnant.

Here is a close shot to show some of the fabrics.  Notice the pink rabbit playing a violin.
Here is another close shot to show some of the fabrics – flowers, fire hydrants, circles, feathers, etc.
Here is yet another close shot to show the fabrics:  hearts, bugs, flowers, parasols, etc.

Oh how pretty. Well done you!

I just LOVE the way you use white as a background colour. It really highlights the fabrics you used in the pieces. I've been humming-and-hahing over what to do on my Joseph's Coat quilt. Think this might just win it! Or maybe a very pale blue... I didn't want anything too patterned to detract from the lovely petal-shaped coloured pieces I've planned.

Although I don't know much about sewing and such, I always enjoy seeing your works, R. Very impressive!

Oh, and the tips at the bottom for finding a well-fitting bra? Priceless! LOL I took notes.

Have a great weekend, friend.

I keep way too many scraps. From a Lazy Star quilt I made this spring I kept all the leftover triangles - sewed them together before I cut them off - and they're in a bag in the sewing room waiting for me to figure out what to do with them. They're really small but a "little quilt" is probably going to be the outcome of those. blessings, marlene
