Small Whole Cloth Quilt

I bought this pre-printed Batik whole cloth quilt top a few years ago (I think 2007 Nashville quilt show) from The Stencil Company.  I finally got around to hand quilting it.  The quilt pattern is Queen’s crown.  Finished, it measures 16 in square.  The quilting is difficult to see in my photos of the front.  Here is the full quilt.

Here is a photo of one corner which shows the quilting just a bit better.

The quilting is much easier to see from the back

I now need to add a sleeve for hanging and a label.

African Whole Cloth Quilt Finished!

I have finally finished!  As implied by the title, there was no piecing of this quilt top.  I loved the fabric so much I just couldn’t cut it into pieces so I just quilted it.  I attempted to do some machine trapunto.  The effect is less than I had hoped.  I think I should have used an even higher loft polyester batting for the trapunto.  I might even should have used it for the entire quilt rather than switching to Hobb’s Heirloom cotton batting.  Still, it is lovely and my photos don’t do it justice.

It is machine quilted in an echo pattern.  The quilt measures 52.75 in X 70 in.

Here you can see the some of the echo quilting. Notice the animals could use a little more “stuffing.”
Another photo to try to show off the quilting.
Here’s the back (really the fabric is a lovely green)
Here you can see the quilting better.  Again not the animals could use a little more “stuffing.”
Another photo of some of the back detail
I haven’t decided what to do with this quilt.  I have a few options in mind, but am open to suggestions.

1790 Eagle Quilt Finished!

Updated 3/2017-- all links removed as many are no longer active and it was easier than checking each one.

Last month I showed this quilt as a WIP (work in progress).  It is now finished after 3 weeks of hand quilting, every night for 2-3 hours.  I am pleased with how it turned out.  Forgive my photos as I am not great at taking photos of whole cloth quilts.  The quilt is white white not a cream white.
The quilt is 20 in square and hand quilted.  The front and back look like mirror images of each other.  Here is the front:
Here is the back:
Here is a photo of the eagle detail (from the back).
Here is a photo of one of the corners.

This quilt will be part of the Eagle Motif Wallhanging Decade by Decade Project and represents the decade 1790-1800.
