Another niece is having a second baby this spring. I took a "fabric book" panel and used the pages as blocks. Then used strips in a woven pattern to put them together. It is 38 in X 52 in. The quilt is machine pieced and quilted.

This has turned out beautifully R and I'm sure she'll be delighted with it.
Thanks, JMB.
Ramona,
Great idea with the weaving! It really adds visual interest.
I also love 'piecing' the back of a quilt. Uses up scraps and often looks cuter than a plain color.
Thanks Dr Smak.
That is beautiful, Ramona. I just love to see your work. How lucky the recipients are to have you in their lives.
Thank you, CA.
Where you find the time to practice medicine, blog and make thes gorgeous q1uilts is just beyond me!
TBTAM, I have no children who need to be taken to events or tended. I use the time you give to your children for my quilts, etc.
