Five Fabric Postcards

I made these fabric postcards a few weeks ago.  They were made specifically to be donated to the Pet Postcard Project.  Each postcard is 5 in X 7 in.  For this first one, I fussy cut the dogs which were then machine appliqued onto the flag.  I then machine quilted the flag before assembling the postcard and binding.
This one features a fussy cut cow wearing a Christmas wreath which is machine appliqued onto the background fabric.  As with the first, it was machine quilted before assembling and binding.
This one is pieced, then machine quilted before assembling and binding.
For this one I machine appliqued a fussy cut elephant, then machine quilted before assembling and binding.
This one and the flag with the dogs are my favorites.  The fussy cut girl, dog, and grass are machine appliqued to the white background.  It was then machine quilted before assembling and binding.

Premie Baby Blanket

I knit this baby blanket, 25 in square, using a basic diagonal pattern increasing until I had used up 1 skein of the two skeins I had of Debbie Bliss Baby Cashmerino then began the decrease.  I then picked up stitches around each side and knit a simple border in the round to increase the total size of the blanket using two other yarns (leftovers in my stash from other projects-- Artyarns Ensemble Glitter Light and Filatura Di Crosa Zarina.  I gave the blanket to a little girl who is the granddaughter of a nurse anesthetist I used to work with at Little Rock Surgery Center.

Two Dog Beds

I made two dog beds, approx 20 in X 36 in (only one shown but both alike).  I made them using recycled cushions from outdoor furniture (the covers where in taters), pillowcases, and fleece fabric. I gave the beds to my local humane society.
Here are the materials used prior to be put together.  Each dog bed contains two of the recycled cushions.

Two Hand Fabric Postcards

These two small postcards are approx 5 in x 7 in.   I printed both photos (found on the internet) onto fabric and then machine quilted the cards. The first one features a hand holding a Rubik's cube. I made it as a birthday card for an old friend/mentor who turns 70 later this month.

The second one features two individuals holding hands.  It is going to a different old friend and mentor.

Flag Quilt with Hearts

This small quilt, 16 in square, was made for the Quilt Alliance 2016 contest.  The theme this year is playing favorites.  I happen to love flag quilts.  I also am fond of scrape quilts and this one uses multiple red and beige fabrics.   It is machine pieced and quilted.

First Finished Quilt of the Year

Started this quilt in December 2015 and finished just after the first of the year.  It is machine pieced and quilted.  It measures approx 40 in X 51.5 in.  I haven't yet decided who will get this quilt.

The next few photos show some of the details.  In this section can be found eggs, spools of threads, a pink poodle,  and words like fun, haunt, and creep.
In this one -- fireworks, a cat, a couple, faces, and Arkansas basketball.
In this one carolers, dogs, car fender, and a motorcycle.
This is the back.  It is pieced with the center being an old linen calendar from 1958.

Seven More Hats

All these were knit last year but not yet featured here. The first two hats (first three photos) were knit using the pattern Techno Hat by Colleen Powley.  The yarn for the first one is  Creative Melange Chunky by Rico Design.

The yarn for this one is Charisma by Loops & Threads.
The pattern for this white hat is Hermione Hearts Ron by Christy Aylesworth. The yarn is HiKoo by skacel Simplicity.
These next two photos are of three hats made using leftovers from other hats with basic hat pattern.  A crocheted rose and a pompom added to two of them.

The last three photos are of a hat knit using the pattern Lace Tam by Lois Young.  The yarn is Crystal Palace Yarns Sausalito.  This photo is from the top.
This photo is from the underside.
 This one from the side.
