Ode to Dr. Suess Quilt

I made this quilt for my nephew Dallas and his wife Gwen's first born son Gabril (born in March 2024).  The quilt was finished in early December 2023.  It measures 38 in x 48.5 in.  It is machine pieced and quilted.  The back is pieced also. Book is One fish, two fish, red fish, blue fish.

ABC Baby Quilt

I say a quilt similar to this one online (no numbers just the alphabet).  I drafted my block patterns.  It is machine pieced and quilted.  The finished quilt measures 37.5 in X 45.5 in.  It was made for a niece and her husband who are having their first child this September

Another Scrappy Child's Quilt

Finished this quilt last month.  It measures 42.5 in X 56 in.  It is machine pieced and quilted.  The first photo is a full shot and the other three close up to show some of the different fabrics used.
 In this section you can see zebras, an angel, motorcycle, sunflower, bear, Holly Hobby, and horses.
 In this section there are trees, sailboats, hobby horses, shapes/colors
 In this section words (raiders, bbq, cat), dogs, a rooster, an elephant, zebras, an angel, flowers.

Scrappy Houses Quilt

I recently finished this child's quilt.  It is a scrappy crazy quilt.  I  tried to make each block contain the shape of a house.  The quilt is machine pieced and quilted.  It measures approx 41 in square. 
 It's possible to play "I spy" using the quilt blocks.  This block has a cat, a lighthouse, a basketball, and a star.
 This block has a tree, a cat, a dog, flower, and a four.
 This block has a zebra, a car, red dots, and words.
I mailed the quilt to a friend/colleague for her child.

Latest Child's Crazy Quilt

Recently finished this child's crazy quilt.  It is machine pieced using scrap fabrics.  It is machine quilted.  The quilt measures approx 40 in X 44 in.  No one particular in mind but thinking I may give it to a colleague for her grand-daughter who is just over a year old.  This first photo shows the entire quilt.
 These next three show details.  There is much for a child to find.  Colors (red, green, etc), shapes (strips, dots), things (sail boat, girl, Minnie mouse).
 In this one -- peacock feather, sailboat, horse, dogs.
 In this one -- owls, horses, angle, razorback.

Scrappy Baby Quilt

This scrappy baby quilt was made for my medical school roommate who's first grandchild (a boy) was recently born.  It is machine pieced and quilted. It measures 42 in square. 
 This area of the quilt has angles, words, a motorcycle, a bear, dogs, and trees.
 This are of the quilt has trees, a lamp, a girl, a horse, and flowers.
 This area has dogs, scissors, trees.
 The back features Dr. Seuss fabric.

Child's Crazy Quilt

I recently finished this child's crazy quilt. It is machine pieced and quilted.  It measures 37 in X 45 in.  The front has areas of interest that I hope any child would find interesting.  
In this section there are dots, checks, stars, a cat, carolers, a rabbit, flags, a kangaroo, and car instrument panel.
 This area has more carolers, Santa, pirate map, tractors, a robot, girls, and a cat.
 This area has flags, a basketball, strips, stars, dogs, Oklahoma oil rig, flowers.
 In this last photo, the quilt is folded so that the back fabric shows.  It is "Holly Hobbie" fabric.

Hour Glass Child Quilt

I finished this quilt for a friend of mine who started piecing it for her first grandchild several years ago.  I finished piecing it by machine mostly.  I had to hand sew some of the corners so all the points would match better.  It is machine quilted. The quilt measures approx 38 in X 50 in.
 Here a close up that show some of the quilting.
 The backing is a wonderfully soft flannel.

First Finished Quilt of the Year

Started this quilt in December 2015 and finished just after the first of the year.  It is machine pieced and quilted.  It measures approx 40 in X 51.5 in.  I haven't yet decided who will get this quilt.
 
The next few photos show some of the details.  In this section can be found eggs, spools of threads, a pink poodle,  and words like fun, haunt, and creep.
 In this one -- fireworks, a cat, a couple, faces, and Arkansas basketball.
 In this one carolers, dogs, car fender, and a motorcycle.
 This is the back.  It is pieced with the center being an old linen calendar from 1958.

I recently finished this quilt -- child or lap size at 42.5 in X 55.5 in.  It features the houndstooth block.  The quilt is machine pieced and quilted.  It is headed to a friend who lives in Florida.

This work in progress (WIP) is a blue version of the houndstooth quilt I recently did in multiple colors.  A friend asked me to make one in blue.  It is pieced and I am currently working on the quilting.

Another Crazy Quilt Top Finished

I have finished another crazy quilt top.  This one is approx 40 in X 50 in.  I now need to quilt it.

 
These next few photos show some of the details of interest to be found in the quilt.  In this section there are dogs, a cat, a tractor, part of a pirate’s map, kangaroos.
 
In this section there is a pink poodle, a motorcycle, elephants, a duck with a Santa hat, sewing tools.

Cheerful Leftovers Quilt

I had trouble naming this quilt.  It is made using leftover blocks and fabrics.  The overall effect for me is cheerfulness.  Hence, the name.  The quilt is machine pieced and quilted.  It measures 56 in square.  I have plans to give this to a young child.  The back fabric is the same as the border fabric.

Another Scrappy Child's Quilt

Here's my latest scrappy child's quilt (earlier post when in progress).  It is machine pieced and quilted.  It measures approx 45 in X 57 in. 

 
In this are there are many colors (blue, green, yellow, browns, and more), dots, horses, cats.
 
In this are a pink poodle, a motorcycle, horses, a robot, leaves, and lemons/limes.
 
In this are more cats, lorax, a lizard, trick or treat, tulips, snowmen.
 
This area has the working pocket, cats, faces, thread spools, hearts, stars.
