Yule Hats

This two hats use yarn Universal Yarn Uptown Worsted Tapestry in Yule color scheme. The one on the left was made using Elf's Hat by Tara Mercer.  There wasn't quite enough of the skein for two elf hats so the second one is a simple basic hat.

Aviatrix and Kitamat Hats

I have started working on knitting hats for several of the grand-nieces/nephews and maybe some of the nieces/nephews too.  These two are for grand-nieces.  The one with the pink crocheted rose is the Aviatrix hat.  The pattern is  Aviatrix hat by Justine Turner.  The white yarn is Cascade Yarns 220 Superwash.  The pink yarn is left over Malabrigo Yarn Lace from the swirl jacket I knit a few years back.

The pattern for the blue/white hat is Kitimat by Kayla Sparkes.  Both yarns are HiKoo by skacel Simplicity.

Second Memory Quilt Top Finished

Here's the second memory quilt using the mostly Tommy Bahama shirts for my colleague's family. The top measures 46.5 in X 60.5 in.  It is machine pieced and will be machine quilted.
I used the pockets for this quilt.

Memory Quilt Finished

The first memory quilt from the mostly Tommy Bahama shirts for my colleague's family is finished.  It is machine pieced and quilted.  The finished quilt measures 51 in X 66 in. The photo of the full quilt isn't the best but I am pleased with how it turned out.
This photo shows some of the fabric detail.
This photo also shows some of the fabric detail as well as the tags/labels.
Here is a section of the back which shows some of the quilting detail.

More Hats for Charity

These three hats will be added to others for a total of eleven to be sent to Knitting for Noggins.  I have sent them other hats in the past. The first two here were made from left over yarns from other projects.
This blue and white hat was made from Red Heart yarn as a "mock up" for a hat I will be making for my husband using wool yarn.  I wanted to get the white and blue areas the correct widths per his specifications.  Also I noticed that when the white ribbing is turned up there is a blue line so when I knit his I will decrease the ribbing by one row and add a row of stockinette stitch.

Lone Peak Socks

I knit these socks for my husband.  The yarn is Schachenmayr Regia Active 6 Ply.  The pattern is Lone Peak found on Schachenmayr's website. I got lucky, they actually fit him well.

Memory Quilt Top Finished

I made this memory quilt for a friend's mom out of his dad's (her spouse's) old shirts.  Most are Tommy Bahama shirts but not all.  The top measures approx 54 in X 67 in.  It is machine pieced and will be machine quilted.  There's enough fabric left from the shirts for at least a couple more quilt tops of similar size.
Love the embroidered fish/flowers on the black fabric.
I love labels (see the quilt I made using labels) so have made sure a few were incorporated into the quilt top.

Variation of Symmetry in Silk Scarf Finished

I finished the scarf using my modification of the pattern  Symmetry in Silk by Eugen Beugler.  The two yarns are Lotus (Trendsetter) Tibetan Cloud (100% yak) and Blue Ridge Yarns Silk Shimmer Lace (100% silk).  I started the scarf using left overs of the two yarns but found I had to order more.  I found an exact color match of the Silk Shimmer  but not the Tibetan Cloud.  My left over Tibetan Cloud was the "bone" color which I couldn't find so settled on the "fawn" thinking I could darken it slightly using tea or coffee.  My attempt at tea/coffee dying didn't work.  You can see the slight difference in my photos (sorry, the photos are the best but the second one is closest to the true color).  The scarf measures approx 66 in X 11 in.

Two Fabric Postcards

These two fabric postcards are birthday themed. Both are machine appliqued and quilted. The first one features a n ice cream cone with a cherry on top.  It measures approx 5 in x 8 in.
This photo hopefully shows the added sparkle (using glitter glue) to the cherry and to lesser extent the ice cream.
The second card features a cup cake with single lit candle.

Silk-Yak Scarf -- WIP

I started knitting this scarf using left over yarn from other projects.  The two yarns are Lotus (Trendsetter) Tibetan Cloud (the tan color yarn, 100% yak) and Blue Ridge Yarns Silk Shimmer Lace (the blue color, 100% silk).  The pattern is my modification of Symmetry in Silk by Eugen Beugler.  I am pleased with the lovely drape and feel of the scarf. I had to order addition Silk Shimmer Lace yarn.  I hope I don't have to do the same for the Tibetan Cloud.  Here's how it's looking so far.

American Flag Quilt -- WIP

I recently pieced this small wall quilt.  It is machine pieced with appliqued stars.  The flag quilt measures 35.5 in X 23.25 in unquilted.  My sister is going to hand quilt it.
