Lacey Knit Chuppah

This blanket was knit at the request of a friend for her upcoming Jewish wedding in November.  She wanted it to actually use it as a chuppah.  It blocked out to approx 54 in square.  The pattern (modified to knit as a whole piece rather than in four segments) is Lacey Knit Chuppah by Bubbie Knit.  The yarn is Cascade Yarns Pacific in white. The first two photos are after blocking.  The last two are during blocking.

Golden Milo Shawl

I finished this shawl back in April.  It was knit using the pattern MILO by Gabriel Ordenes.  The yarn is Lost City Knits Foothills Fingering in the colorway  Rumplestilskin. It took one skein.  Blocked it measured 54 in wide and 27 in deep.  I'm sure it will end up being a gift for someone but at this time I don't know who it will be.

Mananita Magic

I finished this poncho/shawl this past weekend.  I started it at the beginning of the year.  The pattern is Mananita Magic by Meg Swansen in Shawls and Scarves: The Best of Knitter's Magazine.  The yarn is Shibui Knits Lunar.  It measures approx 20 in from neck edge to outer edge.  The two photos are after blocking.

This photo is of the blocking.
This photo is preblocking.  It always amazes me how much nicer shawls look after blocking.

Sample Stitch Shawl -- WIP

My sewing room is barely in a usable state at this time as I have packed much of it up in anticipation of redoing the floor, getting new paint, and perhaps new storage.  All that is too happen after we finish the remodel of the guest bathroom.  So my handwork production may be more knitting than sewing over the next several months.  I put the afghan aside to work on this shawl.  The pattern is  Stitch Sampler Shawl by On This Day Designs.  The yarn is Neighborhood Fiber Co. Studio DK, the shade is Lauraville.

Triangle to Rectangle Shawl

I knit this shawl using the pattern A Beginner's Triangle by Amy Detjen.  The yarn is Cascade Yarns Kid Seta Noir.  I didn’t want it to be a triangle but love the pattern of the lace. When the width got to be approx 18 in I stopped the increases.  Blocked the shawl is approx 80 in long by 22 in wide.

Red Lace Shawl -- WIP

This shawl is a work in progress (WIP).  It is being knitted using Cascade Yarns Kid Seta Noir.  The pattern is A Beginner's Triangle by Amy Detjen.  I didn’t want it to be a triangle but love the pattern of the lace so when the width got to be approx 18 in I stopped the increases.  I am now continuing to knit the shawl at as if a rectangular shawl.  When it gets as long I want it to be minus the length of the "increasing width" length at the start I will begin to decrease as the pattern is written.
