I knit these dog sweaters using leftover yarns. This first one was knit using the pattern Patons Cables and Hearts Dog Coat. Both were made for a family member's dog.

Small Dog Sweater
As mentioned in my last post I have continued to knit and quilt during my unintended hiatus. I knit this dog sweater for a friend's approx 5 lb dog in January. I don't recall the pattern and will have to search for it if I ever want to make the dog another sweater. It was a perfect use of some leftover bulky yarn.

There is a small dog (12 lbs) who comes to the Athletic Club with her owner. I knit this dog sweater using four different leftover yarns. The pattern is Red Heart Dog Sweater from Yarnspiration.

Lizzie's Neon Pink Sweater
I recently finished this sweater for my dog Lizzie. It was knit using two patterns. The main pattern was "Life is Ruff Knit Dog Sweater" by Red Heart Yarn. That pattern is mostly plain so I used the cable pattern from the
Declan's Hat
by Samantha Kirby. The yarn is Plymouth Yarn Encore Worsted in neon pink.

Messaline Sweater
It took me a long time to knit this sweater, almost a year. Mostly because I keep putting it aside to work on other projects. I do like the finished result. The pattern is Messaline
by Bristol Ivy. The yarn is Cloudborn Fibers Highland Fingering.

Shirts for my dog Lizzie
I drafted a pattern for a pullover shirt for my dog Lizzie. I used these notes (http://www.barlowscientific.com/technotes/home/sweater.html) as a reference which are quite helpful.
Here's my first one using an old T-shirt with the words "dog rule" on the front.
Lizzie approves.
I did a bit of tweaking to tighten and raise the neck a bit as well as tightening the torso a bit too for this one. It was made of left over fleece. I used sock cuffs for the sleeves as I didn't have quite enough fleece. The socks worked really well.
I'm not sure if I'll leave the pattern alone now or tweak it more. Friday, November 25, 2016
Dog Sweater for Lizzie
We recently adopted a rescue dog to replace our chocolate Labrador Rusty who died back in January. Lizzie is a 4-5 yr old Jack Russell/Bull terrier mix. She is house-broken. She is intelligent and has already learned how to use the dog-door. I am working with her on the basic commands.
With winter coming I decided to knit her a few sweaters. This is the first one. It was knit using the pattern Biscuits & Bones Dog Coat
by Paton. The yarn is
Lion Brand Wool-Ease in mushroom color. Lizzie loves her sweat, but I had a tough time getting a photo of her from the side while standing. So here's one of her curled up while wearing it.
Here's an old photo of my sweet Rusty.

Hat Done, Top in Progress
This hat is actually a darker, richer brown that the photos show. It was knits using the pattern Cabled Dad Hat by Alexis Winslow. The yarn is Cascade Yarns 220 Superwash. The hat can be worn slouchy or with the brim folded.
This top is what I am currently knitting. I am knitting it in the round rather than as a front and back piece to be seamed latter. When I got to the armhole shaping it seemed to wide so I frogged it back to the pattern and am working in a few decrease rounds. The pattern is Summer Breeze Tank. The yarn is Classic Elite Yarns Firefly and the color is called sour green. It is a much lovelier shade than my photo shows.

Linen Leaf Yoke Top
I knit a top once before using this pattern, but this one I did correctly. By that I mean the yoke pattern is properly centered. The pattern is #14 Leaf Yoke Top by Angela Hahn. The yarn is Rowan Creative Linen.
Here is a photo to more clearly show the yoke pattern.
The sweater has a turned hem.

Joy's Sweater
This sweater is for a grand-niece. It was knit using pattern Silver Cardigan by Kristiina Temin. The yarn for the main sweater is Debbie Bliss Cotton DK. The yarn for the trim is Adriafil Knitcol.
The colors in the sweater are more like those in this next photo than the others.
I chose simple buttons, feeling they worked better than the others I looked at.

Yellow Liten Kofta
I knit this baby sweater for my niece who is pregnant with her second child. I have not heard if they know the baby's sex so I opted for yellow to be safe. The pattern is Liten kofta by Gralina Frie. The yarn is Schachenmayr nomotta Bravo Baby.
This photo not only shows the buttons better, but the truer shade of the yellow.
