As mentioned in my last post I have continued to knit and quilt during my unintended hiatus. I knit this dog sweater for a friend's approx 5 lb dog in January. I don't recall the pattern and will have to search for it if I ever want to make the dog another sweater. It was a perfect use of some leftover bulky yarn.

Harlow's Sweater
I knit this sweater for my rescue Jack Russell. Her name is Harlow. The pattern is Buster by Berroco Design Team. The yarn is Berroco Vintage in colorway sour cherry. I'm not perfectly happy with the collar/neck area but otherwise I like it.

Lizzie Portrait Quilt
I made this small quilt portrait, 5 in square, in response to a fund raising event the Arkansas Repertory Theatre is doing. In September they posted a request for artist to do pieces of artwork for their upcoming “5x5” art show. Every artist was told to pick up a 5 in square canvas to ensure size conformity. My initial thought was to do a 5 in square quilt or postcard. Then I decided to do this quilted portrait of my dog Lizzie (appliqued top quilted to batting without an actual quilt back or binding) and wrap the canvas. Here it is.
I used mistyfuse to attach the quilt to the canvas (literally ironed it on) then wrapped the fabric and sewed the fabric to itself and the canvas. Friday, December 8, 2017
Lizzie's Neon Pink Sweater
I recently finished this sweater for my dog Lizzie. It was knit using two patterns. The main pattern was "Life is Ruff Knit Dog Sweater" by Red Heart Yarn. That pattern is mostly plain so I used the cable pattern from the
Declan's Hat
by Samantha Kirby. The yarn is Plymouth Yarn Encore Worsted in neon pink.

For the Love of Riley
This portrait quilt was based on a photo of my niece and her dog Riley. She gave me permission to use the photo. Here's the original photo.
Here's the finished quilt. It is machine appliqued and quilted. The finished size is 21.5 in sq.
Here is a detail photo of the eyes. The eyes in the original photo is what really got me.
Here's a detail photo of the nose and tongue. Riley is a beautiful dog that I only did partially captured.
