Chevron Baby Blanket

This small afghan was knit for a baby whose family lives in Arizona.  I tried to pick colors that reminded me of the desert flora I saw on my trip there this spring.  They looked great lined up together but I'm not perfectly happy with the finished blanket.  I think it might have looked better if I had knit a strip of each color at each end rather than two strips of two colors at opposite ends.  It was knit using the pattern "The Walt Painted Chevron Baby Blanket" by Danielle Romanett.  The yarn is
Cascade Yarns 220 Superwash in colors  228 Frosted Almond,  859 Lake Chalan Heather, 253 Desert Sun, 253 copper heather, and 1919 Turtle.  It measures approx 33 in X 43 in.

Shoreline Bag

This is the first project I have crocheted in a long while.  I saw this kit by Wool and the Gang for this bag (Shoreline Bag) knit with yarn made of recycled plastic bottles mixed with cotton.  I purchased the kit and made the bag to give to a sister who loves going to the beach.  Her birthday is later this month.  The bag measures approx 20 in wide x 15 in high x 6 in deep.
