May the Force Be With You Hat

I knit this hat at the request of a nephew.  It turned out fairly well in spite of the fact that my tension when changing yarn is not perfect which is why I lined it completely so the changes don't show. The pattern is Star Wars Storm Trooper Hat by Sheila Toy Stromberg.  The yarns are Berroco Vintage (mistletoe) and HiKoo by skacel Simplicity (white and silver).

Merry Christmas to you all!

American Flag Quilt Finished

I machine pieced this quilt top earlier this year for my nephew.  My sister (his mother) hand quilted it before handing it back to me to do the binding and attach a sleeve for hanging on the back.  The finished quilt is approx 22.5 in X 34 in, a good size for hanging on the wall.
This photo and the next show some of the interesting fabric pieces used and the hand quilting.

This photo shows the hand quilting of the blue star field from the back.

Five More Knitted Hats

Here are five more knitted hats.  All made using basic hat pattern.  These two brown/blue hats were made using  I Love This Wool!  yarn (brown) and left over blue yarn (unsure of brand).

These yellow ones were made using left over yarn that I think is  Cascade 220 Superwash.  The black yarn strips of left over yarn (unsure of brand).

This soft gray hat was knit using Zarina by Filatura Di Crosa.

Medallion Memory Quilt

This is the 3rd memory quilt made for my colleague's family from his father's shirts (mostly Tommy Bahama shirts).  One of his shirts had this lovely scene on the shirt's back fabric which I wanted to use as the center of the quilt.  I then used the other shirts in a round-the-world pattern around the center medallion.  The shirt is machine pieced and quilted.  It measures approx 49.5 in X 59.5 in.

Yule Hats

This two hats use yarn Universal Yarn Uptown Worsted Tapestry in Yule color scheme. The one on the left was made using Elf's Hat by Tara Mercer.  There wasn't quite enough of the skein for two elf hats so the second one is a simple basic hat.

Aviatrix and Kitamat Hats

I have started working on knitting hats for several of the grand-nieces/nephews and maybe some of the nieces/nephews too.  These two are for grand-nieces.  The one with the pink crocheted rose is the Aviatrix hat.  The pattern is  Aviatrix hat by Justine Turner.  The white yarn is Cascade Yarns 220 Superwash.  The pink yarn is left over Malabrigo Yarn Lace from the swirl jacket I knit a few years back.

The pattern for the blue/white hat is Kitimat by Kayla Sparkes.  Both yarns are HiKoo by skacel Simplicity.
