I am a plastic surgeon in Little Rock, AR. I used to "suture for a living", I continue "to live to sew". These days most of my sewing is piecing quilts. I love the patterns and interplay of the fabric color. I would like to explore writing about medical/surgical topics as well as sewing/quilting topics. I will do my best to make sure both are represented accurately as I share with both colleagues and the general public.

Post for a Friend
Dr Smak has asked me to let you all know that she has taken her blog down temporarily. Her family is fine. Her blog will be back in the (hopefully) near future.
Thanks for letting us know this. I read her blog regularly and was concerned when I went to it this week and there was a message that it had become invitation only.
My thoughts are with her and her husband and their daughters as they go through this slow parting with Henry. I have been amazed at her presence of mind as she has blogged about Henry's cancer, Henry's activities and health, and how she is feeling.
