This blanket was knit at the request of a friend for her upcoming Jewish wedding in November. She wanted it to actually use it as a chuppah. It blocked out to approx 54 in square. The pattern (modified to knit as a whole piece rather than in four segments) is
Lacey Knit Chuppah
by Bubbie Knit. The yarn is Cascade Yarns Pacific in white. The first two photos are after blocking. The last two are during blocking.
I am a plastic surgeon in Little Rock, AR. I used to "suture for a living", I continue "to live to sew". These days most of my sewing is piecing quilts. I love the patterns and interplay of the fabric color. I would like to explore writing about medical/surgical topics as well as sewing/quilting topics. I will do my best to make sure both are represented accurately as I share with both colleagues and the general public.

Crazy Quilt for a Baby
I made this baby quilt for the coming grand-baby (due soon) of a friend of my husband. It measures approx 35 x 43 in. It is machine pieced and quilted.
These next few photos show some of the fun fabrics used. I like these quilts for baby as they have so many colors, shapes, and things to find. In this section there is Minnie Mouse, Holly Hobby, polka dots, flowers, and more.
In this section there is a pig, angels, a happy girl, a skeleton dog, a sunflower, and more.In this section there is a dog, motorcycle, sailboats, lighthouses, and more.
