I love how this scarf turned out. Just finished it earlier this week. It was knit using yarn Wisdom Yarns Poems Sock. The pattern is Nurmilintu
by Heidi Alander. After blocking the scarf measures approx 77 in along the longest edge and 18 in at the widest point. The two other sides measure 37 in and 49 in.
I am a plastic surgeon in Little Rock, AR. I used to "suture for a living", I continue "to live to sew". These days most of my sewing is piecing quilts. I love the patterns and interplay of the fabric color. I would like to explore writing about medical/surgical topics as well as sewing/quilting topics. I will do my best to make sure both are represented accurately as I share with both colleagues and the general public.

Theirs
I made this quilt after reading about the use of they as a singular pronoun by many
trans individuals rather than he or she. My thinking for this piece was a
monogrammed towel as a simple gesture of welcome and acceptance. I
chose the floral background fabric to try to elicit wallpaper. The dark
gray/black strip at the bottom was meant to be the counter top which I
chose to leave empty (thought of adding soap, hair brush, etc but
decided not to do so). The quilt is 20.5 in X 22 in. It is machine appliqued and quilted.
